Performance rehearsals, orchestra practice and set design sessions have been in full swing for a number of weeks at Galen in lead up to the 2016 Junior Production, Shrek and the Superheroes.
Galen’s Junior production includes many much-loved superheroes and their villains. There is great concern in superhero land as the Mafia Boss and Dr Evil have decided to rid the superheroes of their powers and take over the world. What they didn’t account for though, was the arrival of Shrek and Donkey who were accidentally teleported to Superhero Land.
With other characters such as Katniss, Charlie’s Angels and Hermione Granger can they save the day or will they all be doomed? Come along and find out for yourself.
Also featuring an impressive 22 piece orchestra, the largest ever at a Galen Junior production, the show on-stage will truly be brought to life by Galen’s talented young musicians.
Production Director Julie Nolan stated, “Our Junior Production is utilised as a great educational tool, whereby students from year 10 are given the opportunity to take on leadership roles as directors and choreographers, leading students from years 7-9. It’s always pleasing to see how well they all work together, and this year is no exception.”
