We recogise Child Protection Week by remembering that children have the right to be safe at all times. By reducing the power imbalance that contributes to harm of children we each take the responsibility to protect children at risk of harm, neglect, physical, sexual or emotional abuse. The Catholic Church recognises this week the victims of abuse and together we build a different future not paralysed by shame, anger, or hurt.

Loving God, hear our prayers, spoken and unspoken. Grant us the gift of hope and give us a genuine compassion for all! May we be mindful always of providing a safe environment for children, young people and adults. AMEN
