Friends of Lacluta invite you to a presentation of a revealing film,
produced by CAVR, the East Timor Commission for Reception, Truth and
Reconciliation.
• 500 years of exploitation by Portugal
• 1975 invasion followed by 25 years of violent occupation by Indonesia
• fierce resistance from Fretilin and other Timorese
• up to 200,000 Timorese dead from military action, starvation and
disease (1/3 of the population)
The film will be introduced by Pat Walsh AM. Pat has worked in and for
Timor Leste for years and was a major force behind the establishment and
work of CAVR.
Where: GOTAFE Auditorium, Docker St, Wangaratta
