Hi Everybody!

My name is Azzurra Selvaggia Magrin or, as everyone calls me since I have arrived here in Australia, Zoo or Zou and I’m the new Italian Language Assistant. I think that most of you already know me but it’s never too late for a short introduction!

Something about me? I was born 25 years ago in Vicenza, a really nice city in the north-east of Italy, 70km far from Venice. After a diploma at the liceo scientifico in Vicenza (which is an high school focused a on sciences), I completed my bachelor in Philosophy at the University of Padova and, a year ago, I graduated in Philosophy of Language at the University Ca’ Foscari, in Venice, with a thesis on Wittgenstein, Language games and Linguistic mythologies.

I arrived in Australia at the end of April thanks to a scholarship provided by the Italian Ministry of Education and Co. It is a non profit organization for Italians and Australians of Italian descent. I was supposed to work in Melbourne but I managed to come to the country, instead of working in the city, to experience the real Australian life and…here I am! I’m really happy to be here in Wangaratta, Galen College is a fantastic place to work and to learn the difficult but rewarding art of teaching.

I will be working at Galen until the end of the school year but something tells me that I’ll not leave Australia so easily!

Buon lavoro a tutti
