Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please note that due to statewide industrial action planned by state and Catholic teacher unions for Thursday 14 February the following arrangements will apply at Galen on that date:

• All Year 9 & 10 classes will be cancelled on Thursday
• The Year 10 Outdoor Education overnight camp has been postponed until next Monday / Tuesday – affected students will receive notification from their Outdoor Education teachers
• All other year levels WILL run on Thursday

I apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause parents of students in Years 9 & 10. This decision has been made in light of our inability to staff classes across all year levels on Thursday.

Hopefully, the current industrial situation will be resolved soon. The key sticking point at present is the failure to reach agreement between the state government and the state teaching unions on a new pay scale for teaching and non-teaching staff.
