The launch of the Junior Library knitting club occurred on Monday 25th of July. Lots of students took advantage of the opportunity to learn the craft of knitting. Some students are already proficient knitters and brought their own projects along and enjoyed the warm and cosy environment. Lots of variety of wool and needles are available, and also a knitting nancy.
This year the club will support the Wraps for Love program. Knitted squares 10” x 10” are donated to the program, where they are sown into blankets and given to worthy causes. Any parent or student who would like to knit for this program are warmly welcome to participate and to donate squares. Needles and wool are available in the Junior Library if you don’t have any at home. The squares can be a mish mash of colours and patterns or just plain stocking stitch, it all adds to the fun of the finished blanket. Pictured: Shannon Mays
