Galen Resource Centre

Galen’s state of the art Resource Centre is a central learning hub at the College, providing library facilities and ICT support. Dedicated and qualified staff ensure a stimulating learning environment which is essential to enrich and support the educational and recreational needs of our students and staff. The Resource Centre fosters lifelong learning, authentic research skills and an enjoyment of reading with designated areas for both study and leisure activities.
The Library provides print and electronic information resources to support all areas of the curriculum. With a fiction and non-fiction collection, together with a comprehensive reference collection, up-to-date journal, newspaper and magazine databases, a Clickview video catalogue, student iPads and audio visual equipment.
The Oliver library catalogue, encyclopedias, electronic databases and internet are all available across the whole school network and are accessible through the 1-1 laptop program at home and through school hours.

• 8.00-4.30 PM Monday to Thursday
• 8.00-5.00 PM Wednesday (after school Homework Club)
• 8.00-4.00 PM Friday

Specific Programs
Author’s visits and in-school residence programs are a major part of the school year. The Readers Cup (for Junior School students) is held as a homeroom competition and many curriculum incursions are held at the Library Resource Centre as a focus venue. The Library is open at lunchtime to provide study and leisure activities for the students.
