Students explore career options

BridgetWorkExperienceYear 10 Galen students are currently completing their exams before they’ll venture away from the College next week, entering the workforce for a week as part of the school’s work experience program. Galen’s Work and Further Education coordinator Peter Girolami stated that, “It gives our students a better understanding of the opportunities that are available after finishing school, and it helps to direct their subject choices for VCE, VCAL and VET in Year 11 & 12.”

Year 10 student Bridget Cole was fortunate to recently complete her work experience at Melbourne based architectural firm, Billard Leece Partnership. BLP have worked on high-profile projects such as the new Royal Children’s Hospital. “It was great, I learnt so much from the experience,” Bridget says. “Before doing work experience, I didn’t know that much about architecture as a career option, but I’m definitely going to look into further study options. It’s something I’d really like to do at uni.”
