VEX Team doing Galen proud in USA

While the VEX Team narrowly missed out on receiving any awards this year, by all reports the team has done an awesome job against some superb competition.

The team had 10 matches and achieved a high score of 32 twice! They employed a great strategy and displayed excellent teamwork with the teams. In the VEX IQ competition there were 80 teams in their division and they came 65th with and average score of 27 points per match. Congratulations to the team! What an experience for them!

Other North East Victorian teams have also done a great job, with Wodonga Middle Years coming 69th in their division with an average score of 25.88. In the Elementary (Primary) Section, St Anne’s Albury came 79th average score 21.

Teacher Maree Timms mentioned, “For the world ranking in skills (driver and autonomous programming) out of 400 teams qualified for a world spot out of 4000 middle school teams from around the world.
Galen has a ranking of 106! Wodonga is ranked 341. So that is pretty awesome!”

“The kids have had a blast! We didn’t get any awards, but had the most awesome experience. The kids got to be field resetters for the EDR Skills finals, and also at the VEX IQ finals! So they got a bit spoilt!”

From all at Galen, congratulations to the team and enjoy sightseeing for your last few days in the USA.
